Enriching lives one story at a time

We ‘Tossed our Boss’ in support of the Tri-County United Way and raised $2,660!

On Saturday, June 17th Mark Donahue, President/CEO of CWI rappelled over the edge of the Queensbury Hotel in support of the Tri-County United Way’s fundraiser, Over the Edge.

The Tri-County United Way is an organization that is dedicated to improving lives by resolving community issues through collaboration with other agencies. Mark was a “Toss the Boss” participant which means that he was chosen and supported to go over the edge by us, CWI! Mark agreed to participate because he recognizes the importance of supporting other not-for-profit agencies in ways that will positively impact their service in our community. Together, CWI and the United Way partner to coordinate the annual Stuff the Bus event held in November.

Several events hosted interagency significantly contributed to Mark’s success. These events included lunch by the Midtown Cafe, a bottle drive by Everts/Destinations & Community Helpers, a Cookout with Sean and last but not least, the Soak the Sponge event. Each and every event was well attended with great enthusiasm. Together, these events raised 33% of the $2,000 goal! That was $673.61!

All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit local charities in Warren, Washington and northern Saratoga counties that the United Way supports. In total, over $30, 000 was raised for the Tri- County United Way and Mark was a top contributor at $2,659.61. We are excited that CWI will receive a full match of all of the funds we raised from a special donor! It will be CWI’s 55th Anniversary in 2018 and we plan to use the matching funds toward special events.
