Residential Assistants
Positions open in Chestertown & Johnsburg, PT opportunites. Also hiring Relief staff (an excellent way to get training and experience) Requires HS Diploma/GED/CNA and valid NYS drivers license acceptable to Agency insurance standards. Must be of good character and background, and display an affinity for working with people with disabilities.

Starting salary $10.25 to $13.52/hr.

HOME CARE ASSISTANTS
To provide assistance and training in daily living tasks including, but not limited to, household management and some respite services. Also will be responsible for documentation and transportation. Part-time assignments available in Glens Falls, Fort Ann, Granville and Warrensburg. Evening and weekend hours, several days per week. P/T after school hours. Requires a High School Diploma/equivalent, good character and background and an affinity for working with disabled population. Reliable transportation and acceptable driving record required.

Starting Salary: $10.69/hr.

Certified Occupational Therapy Asst. (20 hrs. per week)
Position requires an Associate Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program and current certification by the American Occupational Therapy Association,or eligibility to sit for the certification exam. Successful candidate will have working knowledge of the developmentally disabled population, acceptable driving record and demonstrated competency in First Aid/CPR.
Physical Therapy Assistant
Part-Time/20 hours per week in Glens Falls. $13.43 per hour
Under the direction/supervision of a registered Physical Therapist (RPT), the Physical Therapy Assistant assists in and implements individualized exercise programs developed by the RPT, maintains daily records of treatments and compiles monthly data, participates in staff education with RPT, meets regularly with RPT to discuss program participants and programs.
Associates Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant Program and New York State Licensure.

Residential Manager
Looking for an individual who possesses a Bachelors Degree in Human Service or related field/and two years experience working with the developmentally disabled population, one year of which must have been in a supervisory capacity. An equivalent combination of education and experience working with the developmentally disabled population can be substituted for the college degree on a year to year basis. Must be capable of handling all position responsibilities outlined in the job description, including leadership role, scheduling, problem solving, direct care, and accountability for quality service provisions. Must also have acceptable driving record and be eligible for 19A/CDL certification.

Licensed Practical Nurse
The LPN provides health care services to adult consumers with developmental disabilities in local day programs. The position requires a diploma/GED, valid NYS LPN license, and a valid, NYS drivers license acceptable to Agency insurance standards.40 hr/wk M-F

Salary: $30,828

Transit Shop Manager
Must have at least four (4) years work experience with buses or heavy trucks, both gas and diesel, and be familiar with New York State Department of Transportation Laws and Regulations. One to three years of supervisory experience is highly desirable. Flexibility in scheduling work hours, willingness to perform hands on tasks, and a cooperative spirit to accomplish Operations’ objectives is required. Must possess High School Diploma or equivalent and have acceptable driving record.

Starting salary commensurate with experience/credentials,

Job Coach I

32/hours week $14.20/HR. Requires schedule flexibility.

The Job Coach will actively work with and train adults in our Competitive Edge Supported Employment Program. This entails hands-on training with individuals and groups (enclaves) at jobs sites in the community.

Requires a AAS in Human Services/Related field with two years in industry with leadership experience highly desirable. On-the-job, or five years experience in industrial setting and/or job training and leadership experience may be substituted for two years degree. Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with and consumers and the business community. Must have valid drivers license that meets Agency insurance standards.

Residential Team Leader
36 hours Wed-Sat, Group Home in Fort Edward.
$13.59/hr

Position Qualifications:

Associates degree and 6 months experience or a minimum of 1 year’s experience working directly with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or other challenges, preferably in a residential setting is required. A valid NYS driver’s license is also required.



Work history must demonstrate good communication skills, dependability, effective problem solving, and sound knowledge of the job. Must have an affinity for working with the developmentally disabled population and also be able to relate effectively to direct-care staff and management personnel.

Position Responsibilities:

Supervise and/or provide direct personal care to consumers, which may include but is not limited to: feeding, lifting, repositioning, assisting in ambulating, execution of exercise programs, physical intervention in behavior programs crisis, first aid, CPR, medication administration, transportation of the participants, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene, while respecting the privacy and dignity of each consumer. Implement and monitor programs by documenting progress towards the consumers’ valued outcomes as indicated in Individualized Service Plans (ISP). Attend consumer reviews for the purpose of providing input toward the development and implementation of the ISP. Supervise and participate in the day-to-day operation of the residence by assisting in meal planning and preparation, inventory, shopping and purchasing of food and household supplies, and the cleaning of the residence, while actively involving the consumer to the greatest degree possible. Supervise and provide general direction to the staff of the residence in reference to the needs of the consumers. Conduct on-site orientation to new employees.
Assist the Manager in scheduling relief staff for planned shift openings as well as for unscheduled call-offs. This may include, but not be limited to, assisting with shift coverage of multiple houses and being part of a 24/7 shared beeper rotation. Assist management in providing coverage in instances of vacancies, leaves of absence, and vacations. Assume direct responsibility for the coverage of a shift when all efforts to find coverage have been exhausted and the safety and well-being of consumers would otherwise be compromised if not covered.
Foster community inclusion by involving the consumer in the planning and implementation of recreational and leisure time activities.
Perform general housekeeping duties such as: laundry, shopping, cleaning, meal preparation, transportation, and all other responsibilities to create a positive home environment.
Ensure the daily documentation and/or unusual occurrences including, but not limited to: fire drill performance, incident reports, program data sheets, time sheets, vehicle mileage sheets, daily log entries, bed checks and any other documentation as requested by your supervisor. Administer medications and treatments upon satisfactory completion of the medication administration course.
Schedule, coordinate, and transport (and/or escort) consumers to program, medical, dental, or other appointments as needed. Will be responsible for accessing money, and documenting receipts for consumer funds, petty cash, etc.
Attend and participate in all staff meetings. Take part in any in-service training as required by the agency. Fulfill annual recertification trainings. Perform all other duties associated with the residences as needed and accept reassignments to other residences as directed by Residential Management. Actively cooperate with the President and other staff in supporting the goals and mission of CWI.
