Title: Job Coach
TYPE of employment: Benefited, 30
Schedule: Monday-Wednesday 6:00am-4:00pm, Flexibility required.
Salary: $18.75-$20.71 per hour
POSITION CONCEPT:
To provide job coaching and training services to individuals served by Competitive Edge, as assigned. Provide feedback related to the job placement, skills needed to be acquired and/or mastered. To assist individuals served with maximizing their skills and potential in an employment setting.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Job Coach I will:
1. Actively cooperate with the President/CEO and other staff members in a joint endeavor in satisfactorily achieving the goals of CWI and Competitive Edge.
2. Ability to assess professional strengths and weaknesses of individuals supported and inspire and motivate them in the job setting.
3. Be responsible for on-the-job training/ job coaching of all individuals receiving Competitive Edge’s services, as assigned. This includes but is not limited to: teaching soft skills and specific job related skills, time management, interpersonal skills, workplace culture, employer expectations, analysis of possible job accommodations, advocacy, as well as transportation of individuals to job sites as prescribed.
4. Ensure quality work and customer satisfaction is performed at all contracted work sites.
5. Complete required reporting for funding sources. Be responsible for all documentation related to services received, including electronic health record documentation, electronic timekeeping documentation and other prescribed documentation.
6. Assist in the development and implementation of vocational goals in cooperation with the Employment Counselor, which will be part of the staff action plan.
7. Review and implement staff action plans for individuals supported.
8. Serve as liaison between the potential employers in business and industry, families, and individuals.
9. Assist the Director of Employment Programs; Senior Employment Counselor and Employment Counselor with job skills training of Individuals being served such as resume development, employment-seeking skills and development, and mock interviewing.
10. Take part in any in-service training required by the agency and attend meetings as requested.
11. Act in any other capacity as directed by the President/CEO.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma and two years’ experience in providing prevocational and/or employment related services to persons with a disabling condition. Knowledge of the local job market preferred. Must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate with service recipients and the business community and solid computer literacy skills. Must have an acceptable driver’s license based on agency insurance requirements.
