SUNY Adirondack Office of Continuing Education Announces Receipt of 2016-2017 SUNY Workforce Development Grant funds

(QUEENSBURY, NY- September 20, 2016) – SUNY Adirondack has been approved for

$60,000 in grant funding through the SUNY Workforce Development Grant Program. The Office of Continuing Education will partner with six local organizations – Kru Coffee Collective of Saratoga County, Adirondack Studios of Washington County, and a consortium including CWI, Inc., Family YMCA of the Glens Falls Area, WWAMH, and AIM Services, Inc. representing Warren, Washington, and Saratoga counties – to offer training that will affect an estimated 234 employees over the coming year. These projects were chosen for funding after a competitive selection and submission process that occurred over the summer.

The SUNY Workforce Development grant program assists companies in New York State with staff training and development costs. The grant is intended to support workforce training projects in order to encourage new businesses to relocate to the state and existing businesses to expand and create and retain jobs. The grant funds pay up to 90% of the direct costs of training. SUNY Adirondack looks forward to working with area employers to advance the skills of so many local employees in the coming year with the help of the SUNY Workforce Development Grant Program.
