The Sixth Annual Stuff the Bus Food Drive was held November 1-2, 2019 at Price Chopper/Market 32 in Queensbury, NY.  Thanks to the generosity of hundreds of volunteers, area businesses and agencies and donations received during the event, we collected 8.34 tons of food to benefit food pantries in Warren, Washington and Northern Saratoga Counties.  That’s double the amount collected in 2018!!

Community, Work and Independence Inc. and the Tri-County United Way along with other local agencies hosted the Sixth Annual Stuff the Bus Food Drive to benefit 20 food pantries in Warren, Washington and Northern Saratoga Counties.  The event was a kick-off to the holiday season when many people are looking for ways to give back to their communities and when many people are feeling the pressure of wanting to prepare a holiday meal for their family.

Special thanks to CWI’s program participants and staff who put food collection bins together and delivered them to 65 area businesses to collect food donations three weeks prior to the event.  They also picked up the food bins and delivered to the bus during the food drive on November 1-2.  In addition, some of the programs spent multiple days onsite at Price Chopper/Market 32 prepackaging $5 and $10 bags of food for customers to buy and donate to the food drive, sorting and boxing food donations received and more.  Price Chopper/Market 32 staff began selling the bags prior to and during the food drive and their  customers enthusiastically responded buy purchasing hundreds of these bags for the food drive!  Thanks also to all of the community volunteers and donors.
