Congratulations to Jessica Catone who has won the NYSADSP Direct Support Provider of the Year Award for the Central East Region! Jessica is employed in CWI’s Community Prevocational (Pre-Voc) Services program where she works with individuals to provide guidance and support for their journey to employment including assessments, career discovery, job placement and on-going support for the duration of employment. According to her supervisors, “Jessica is dedicated to her position and committed to assisting individuals to achieve their goals.  She is able to think outside the box to find solutions to challenges as they arise.  She goes above and beyond for the individuals she serves and has built positive working relationships with her co-workers, supervisor and most importantly, the individuals who attend Community Pre-Voc.  She is passionate about her job and it shows!” Jessica was chosen from amongst a group of very deserving nominees for her exemplary work and accomplishments working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  She will be honored in early November at an awards ceremony to be held during the NYSADSP Annual Symposium in Saratoga Springs, NY.

The New York State Association of Day Service Providers (NYSADSP) vision is to help provider members develop quality community-based vocational, volunteer, educational and social activities that maximize each participant’s personal growth and enriches their life experience.  This is achieved through inter-agency collaboration, advocacy, training and innovation.

CWI is thrilled to give special recognition to their Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) during DSP Week September 8-14, 2019!  These dedicated individuals work year-round to support people with intellectual and developmental disabilities with the goal of enriching their lives through innovative programs and services.  We will be highlighting some of these extraordinary DSPs throughout the week showcasing their exceptional skills.  Please join us in thanking each and everyone of them for enhancing the quality of life for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities every day!
