CWI is proud to announce that our Dancing with the Adirondack Stars event was a success! The event was held on Saturday, April 7th, 2018 at the Charles R. Wood Theater in Glens Falls.
The evening featured a cocktail and light appetizer reception, raffle items, a silent auction, live competitive partner dancing and a dessert reception with the stars after the event.
Celebrating our 55th anniversary in 2018, Community, Work and Independence Inc. empowers people with disabilities to discover their full potential. Our fundraising event held on April 7, 2018, Dancing with the Adirondack Stars was similar to the popular hit television show and paired local Professional Dancers with Celebrities from our community. We were honored to have local celebrities Candice Frye the Director of LARAC, Kate Austin-Avon owner of Advokate and Dave Kaiser Chief Credit Officer from Glens Falls National Bank as our judges!
Our Mirror Ball Trophy Winners were Gail Hamel from Hamel Resources, L.L.C. and Timothy Sherman from C.M. Fine Arts for their performance to “Timber” by Pitbull ft. Kesha. Our event also featured a text-to-vote option giving the audience the opportunity to vote for their favorite dance couple of the evening. The winners of the text- to-vote were Major Jim Lafarr from Warren County Sheriff’s Office and Deanna Krug from Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Saratoga Springs performing to “Handclap” by Fitz and the Tantrums.
